(Review) Etude House: Collagen Moistfull Cream & Essence

Hello!

Today I'm reviewing one of my favourite moisturisers and essences of all time! The moisturiser has been out for a long time and it has been so so popular ever since. I first bought the combo about 3 years ago and have repurchased it 3 times now! I have gone to try plenty of other moisturisers as well but recently I had to come back to it because the other moisturisers I tried weren't quite as good :/

The original Moistfull Collagen Cream comes with a free 20ml essence of Moistfull Super Collagen Ampoule. There are other versions of this cream now so make sure you know the difference between them!

The moisturiser comes in a 60ml plastic jar with a spatula. It claims to have an elastic texture that deeply hydrates the skin. It makes skin feel hydrated, smooth, fresh and makes it look youthful and firm. It contains 30% Pure hydrolyzed Collagen, Marin collagen, a fibrous protein extracted from the scales or skin of saltwater fish. It provides abundant moisture and elasticity on skin. Baobab tree water provides nutrition and moisture. It is hypoallergenic and also free from Parabens, Benzophenons, Talcss and Mineral oils.

Both of them contain the ingredient called Hydrolyzed collagen which a gelatin like ingredient used in cosmetics and contains animal ingredients! This ingredient has been found to have multiple good effects on skin such as improvements in skin toning and thickening.
Since they contains protein from fish skin and other animal ingredients, they are not vegan friendly!

The essence comes in a 20ml plastic bottle. The essence contains 90% Super Collagen and has a gel texture, providing firm and smooth skin with its collagen concentrate that quickly absorbs into the skin.

The consistency of the cream is a thick gel type. It absorbs into skin quite fast and does not leave a sticky feeling on your skin! I use it after using the Super Collagen Ampoule Essence. It is the last step to my nigh time skincare routine. I like the way it makes my skin look like full of moisture and youthful. My skin does not feel tight after use like with other anti-aging moisturisers.

The consistency of the essence is a lot thicker than just water and it is quite hard to get out from the small bottle. I imagine it would be easier with a full since product...It absorbs into skin instantly and I use in between aloe vera soothing gel and the Collagen Moistfull cream. Like the cream it does not feel sticky on skin and doesn't feel tight either. They both have a slight scent to them which to me is soapy but I don't think it's overpowering.

I have noticed a big difference in my skin while I have been using these again. If you have been reading my other posts you might have noticed that I have been suffering from very dry skin. These have really helped making my skin look more full of moisture and glow. My skin is still not completely back to normal but I am hoping that maybe after a month of use, it will be!

Pros: image

  • both absorb into skin quickly
  • neither feels sticky on skin
  • make skin look youthful
  • make skin look moisturised
  • hypoallergenic

Cons :image

  • contain animal ingredients
  • maybe not anti-aging enough for some people
Overall, I think they are both excellent as everyday moisturisers and provide a lot of moisture and youthfulness to your skin. However, to some people they might not be as anti-aging as you would hope for...I think they are aimed for people in their 20s and 30s who are trying to prevent signs of aging but I cannot see them making a big difference for people who already have wrinkles. I would suggest getting the Super Collagen cream type from Etude House for those with already worse signs of aging...
I do think they could be suitable for all skin types since I have read many reviews from people with different skin types and they all found them to work well with their skin, I have to say that I am glad that I went back to repurchase them again :)

You can get the combo from Testerkorea for 12,000KRW (approx. 6.80GBP or 10.70USD).

Have a fun day :)
