Winter is here and our skin needs a bit of extra TLC during this time of the year. I am here to share some of the K-skincare saviours for this winter!
1. Dear Klairs - Midnight Blue Calming Cream
This is one is extremely moisturising and soothing. It has a lot of nourishing ingredients and ceramides such as sodium hyaluronate, centella asiatica extract and shea butter. It does have a few essential oils (eg. lavender oil) so keep this in mind if you are sensitive to them. This cream costs approx. 20USD.
2. Dr.Jart Ceramidin Cream
"A moisturizing cream supercharged with 5-Cera Complex to strengthen the skin barrier and shield from water and moisture loss." This is an excellent moisturiser to retain moisture even in the harshest of climates. Approx. 40USD.
3. BEYOND Phyto Aqua Cream
Strengthens skin's ability to maintain moisture. Doesn't contain any harsh ingredients so this is suitable even for the sensitive skin types. It also contains ingredients that will make your skin brighter and clearer such as niacinamide. Approx. 35USD
4. COSRX Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream
Cream that's made with nutrient-rich manuka honey and also contains ceramides which keep the skin soft and help the skin to repair damaged skin barrier. This is a very lightweight cream which absorbs into skin fast and doesn't feel sticky. Approx. 26USD.
5. Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream
This is a very rich moisturising cream that is formulated with mineral rich vegetable extracts that help strengthen skin's moisture barrier. This will keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. Approx. 38USD.
6. PURITO Deep Sea Pure Water Cream
Containing 60% of sea water that replenishes the skin and hyaluronic acid locks in moisture. This cream is suitable for all skin types even sensitive and oily ones. Approx. 12USD.
As you can see a lot of these moisturisers contain ceramides which help the skin to form a barrier to retain moisture and protect the skin against environmental stressors such as pollution and cold air. Ingredients such as sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid and squalane also help the skin to retain moisture and increase moisture levels.
This is my list of really good moisturisers out in the market at the monent. Hopefully there's one that will suit your skin type! Remember to take good care of your skin this winter!
I like using the Laneige waterbank
