(Review) The Saem: 95% Jeju Fresh Aloe Soothing Gel

Hello Everybody!
If you have been browsing through some of the Korean cosmetics, you have probably noticed that every brand seems to have their own Aloe Vera Gel now :D I previously used Nature Republic's Aloe Vera Soothing Gel which is probably still one of the most popular products out there...I decided to buy this one because it did not contain an ingredient that I was not too happy to have found from the Nature Republic's product and plus I wanted to try The Saem because it is a new brand!

It comes in a 300ml plastic tub without a spatula! It contains 95% Aloe vera that is from Jeju Island Korea. It claims have moisturizing and soothing effects for face and body. It has a squeaky clear gel consistency that leaves no sticky or heavy feeling on the skin and absorbs instantly. It has a mild aloe fragrance to it and is free from parabens, artificial colours, benzopheno, animal ingredients, PG, PEG and formaldehyde.
As most of people already now by now Aloe Vera can be used to treat irritated or sun burned skin. It is also good for sensitive skin types. You can use this gel as an after sun care, aftershave, hair essence or all over your body!

To me it is basically the same as Nature Republic's soothing gel! The consistency and the smell are exactly the same. It is like gel that melts onto skin. It absorbs extremely fast! I don't have to wait to apply my moisturiser at all! It feels very soothing on skin and it has a cooling effect. I used it to treat a minor sunburn recently and it felt like heaven! I have also noticed that it has made a difference to my dry and flaky skin and it looks much smoother now.

Pros image :
  • Absorbs quickly
  • cooling effect
  • moisturising
  • can be used all over body
  • big packaging with a lot of product
  • free from chemicals
  • suitable for all skin types
Cons image:
  • Does not provide enough moisture to be used alone on face

Overall, I have been a fan of these Aloe soothing gels for a long time now and I think this product does what it promises. The only thing is that does not provide enough moisture to be used alone in my skincare regime but I use more than one product anyway! Aloe Vera gel should be a staple for everyone...If not as a moisturiser but to treat irritated or sunburned skin!

You can get it from Testerkorea for 3,300KRW (approx. 1.87GBP or 2.94USD).

Have a lovely day! :)
