(Review) Etude House: Color My Brows (No 5 Blondie Brown)

It's about time I post a review on brow product! It seems like makeup is all about the brows these days and the fuller the better. I have used this product in the past but recently I decided to try it out again and see whether my opinions have changed. I have a light blonde hair but quite dark eyebrows. I know that the look is in fashion but sometimes I like to change things up a bit and colour my brows lighter so that my brows are closer to my hair colour. That is the reason why I bought the number 5 blondie brown.

Description:
Eyebrow mascara that gives brows a natural colour. Formula that dries out quickly and helps the eyebrow hairs to stay in place. Contains ingredients such as beeswax and Carnauba wax to provide nutrition and moisture to skin and brows.

Packaging & Texture:
It comes in a small tube with 4.5g of product. The applicator reminds me of a very small mascara. If you're familiar with Benefit's Gimme Brow, the applicator is not as small as in that product. Personally I prefer this one because it's longer and thinner and easier to use.
The texture isn't too runny or too thick. It applies well to my brows although you have to be really careful not to apply too much! I always have to swipe away excess product with this one. It will make your eyebrow hairs stick together like eyelashes would and it is really not attractive. A little goes a long way!

Colour & Lasting power:
It comes in five difference colours:
  • 1: Rich Brown: For dark hair such as black or dark brown
  • 2: Light Brown: For bright hair such as blondie light brown
  • 3: Red Brown: For red-ish hair such as wine, red brown
  • 4: Natural Brown: For bright hair such as natural brown
  • 5: Blondie Brown: For very bright hair such as gold, blondie brown

I have colour number 5 blondie brown. At the moment I have a very light ashy toned blonde hair and unfortunately this colour is a bit too yellow to match my hair colour. Previously when I had more golden blonde hair this would have been a very good match. So I wouldn't recommend it to those with ashy blonde hair.

The lasting power is very good and it doesn't flake off. It lasts through out the day and even a bit of sweating but not too much. It's not waterproof but is fairly smudge proof. It fades a bit during an 8 hour day but not as much as other brow products that I have used.

Pros:
  • Lasting power
  • Hairs stay in place the whole day
  • Colour availability for darker hair colours
  • Fills in brows

Cons:
  • Only one colour for blonde hair
  • Texture can make hairs stick together

Conclusion:
I do think these are very effortless product to use on your eyebrows. I am pretty lazy when it comes to my eyebrows since I have a fringe but I do like how these fill in my brows and make them slightly lighter. It lasts very well and is very easy to apply. The only problem is with the colour that is slightly too yellow for my taste and the formula that can be a bit too tacky if used too much.
